We revamped the user profiles of our current users in Taiwan and Indonesia through qualitative research interviews. This involved creating different personas that cater to the diverse backgrounds and expectations of users regarding OTT. By leveraging these personas, we gained a deeper understanding of our users' needs and preferences in these regions, allowing us to develop targeted solutions that enhance their overall experience.
We utilized the User Journey Map to pinpoint the various pain points and areas of delight experienced by different personas at different stages of product usage. We then conducted iterative improvements to address these issues, such as incorporating a "Watch Now" button on the quick view card to streamline video playback. Additionally, we revamped our product personas to ensure that they accurately reflect the needs and preferences of our users, enabling us to provide more targeted and effective solutions.
Quick View Card enhancement
To improve content discovery, increase viewership rates, and enhance the user experience, we suggest implementing a "Watch Now" button that directly prompts users to play the video. Additionally, to increase the visibility of the "Add to My List" icon, we recommend positioning it prominently within the user interface. Finally, we suggest refining the user experience of the quick view card to improve its intuitiveness and user-friendliness for accessing and viewing content.
We have designed a web, mobile app, and TV platform with enhanced card functionality. This feature allows users to watch videos with just one click, resulting in a higher click-through rate (improved by 25%) and viewing rate. By eliminating one or two steps, we have simplified the user experience, enabling immediate video playback.
Coming Soon timeline curation list
After conducting a user survey, we discovered that users are interested in staying up-to-date on upcoming movie releases and adding them to their watchlist to ensure they do not miss out on the initial release. To meet this need, we offer this feature in four different versions: Android app, iOS app, Android TV, and tvOS. We plan to display handpicked upcoming titles with their release dates on the homepage so that users can easily view and track upcoming content. Specifically, we aim to provide a timeline list of "Coming Soon" titles with release dates shown on the homepage. To illustrate this feature, we have created wireframes during our brainstorming session.
Our platform caters to movie and TV enthusiasts by providing personalized and curated content that is similar to the experience of visiting a theme park or attending a film festival. Our lists are designed to be fresh, interesting, and effortless, with the aim of enabling users to enjoy high-quality movie and TV content.
